Garden in progress

Its catch up time after having a holiday and not being around during planting by the moon days…

Have got the large red tomato and yellow goats nipple tomato seedlings are growing well and have transplanted some of them into buckets and half buried then in their spots in the glass house, It is so cool seeing tomatoes that you have saved seeds from last season growing up and doing well…  The store brought grape kumato and brandywine tomatoes have joined them so hoping next ear I will be able to grow some from my own seed stock…

The mystery white bean seeds I was given have grown into some runner bean plants so have created a growing frame for them and they are starting to climb up, looking forward to seeing what the turn out like.

Fennel plants are loving the freedom of the big boy garden patch and are startign to grow really well as are the spinach and lettuces.

Looking forward to planting out the zuchini and spaghetti squash seddlings from last years seed harvest experiment.

The carrots and beetroot seeds sown two months ago came to nothing (? soil to cold) so they will be resown over the next couple of days…

Something that is an experience is trying to grow kumara.  I was given two kumara slips so after weeks in water growing roots they were planted in a larger bucket inteh glasshouse, so waiting with intense interest to see what the result is going to be like,,,, I have also got a kumara that I have been experienmenting with sprouting the slips which is startign to look really good…

Broad beans are looking amzing and area starting flower.. looking forward to having fresh broad beans lightly steamed

Brassica’s are doing well and looking at planting some more of the harvested seed, have also got kale ( red and curly varieties) that gone to seed drying off and will plant some of their seed when ready…

the Jerusalem artichokes are starting to bush up and grow in teh chicken run, looking forward to harvesting and eating this year… left last year (well forgot lol)…
